Hey ho, JayDers. I guess that is the name this month for Darth JayDer fans. You know, all 3 of you who email me monthly asking when the hell am I gonna do another book. I thank you, Mom, nameless ranter, and guy who obviously hasn’t gotten the clue that I don’t want naked pictures of him. Shudder….

So anyways - I know the financial hard times of everyone, including your 539th favorite comic artist and writer. So we are offering this one time offer of coolness. We have about 6 copies of each of the Alternate covers of Lost 1-4, and a few copies left of the Trade Paperback (all 4 plus…ah, you know the rest by now). Here is the deal:

Issue 1-4 (alt covers) - $3 each, FREE S/H
TPB - $15, and FREE S/H

Plus, if you pick up the TPB, (now with free shipping) I will do a character sketch for you of your choosing. Want Rog giving you the middle finger? Want Alyssa seductively winking? How about Deadpool drinking with Petey? Just write me an email at CinemaEditor@gmail.com for your copy of the book and a free sketch. Woohoo!

Also - I was surfing online through FaceBook and ran across these little pics:

See it? No? Take a closer look…

I never thought my art, let alone a sketch of Alyssa, would be next to the likes of Wade Wilson, Futurama, and My Neighbor Totoro. Thanks Michael for showing the love! Got nuttin’ but love for ya brudder!

During the Chicago Comic Con I was lucky enough to have been interviewed a few times and one of the interviews was really, really awesome. I think I think it was so awesome for one reason because Andrew and I got along so well on our film tastes. Andrew Marcec is half of the duo that is Lingo, (soon to be My Remote Radio), a geek blog about geek things. In other words, something I would listen to with great glee.

Our interview can be found here, on his website.

I promise to up photos tonight of the Chicago Comiccon but I had to do an inventory of the books left over from the weekend.  With the left over books we have some alternate covers, director cut’s and original printing version of #1 from 2006.  Here are the details:

the Alternate Cover
Derek and I both think that if you’re going to say something is a limited run of something it had damn well better be. So with this in mind we printed off 25 each of the Alternate Cover designs for Wizard World 2009 and then destroyed the original data file, making it truly a limited edition. Each book is numbered ?/25.

Lost #1 (Alternate Cover: Wizard World 2009)

This cover is a homage to Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
How many left - 5 (updated 9.05.09)
$3.00 each.

Lost #2 (Alternate Cover: Wizard World 2009)

This cover is an homage to Amazing Fantasy 15, the first appearance of Spider-Man.
How many left - 9 (updated 8.19.09)
$3.00 each.

Lost #3 (Alternate Cover: Wizard World 2009)

This cover is an homage to Action Comics #1, the first comic form of Superman.
How many left - 11 (updated 8.19.09)
$3.00 each.

Lost #4 (Alternate Cover: Wizard World 2009)

This cover is an homage to Sin City.
How many left - 7 (updated 9.03.09)
$3.00 each.

Lost #1: Director’s Cut

This was made to promote the idea that Lost was original made to be a film so we added a lot of extra stuff, even an interview we did that did not appear in the TPB.
How many left - 2
$5.00 each

Original Print #1

This is almost the exact same print as issue #1.. save for 3 things:
1. The last four pages of advertisements are missing.
2. The last page isn’t a “Lost Letters” section but rather a brief story about how Lost came to be.
3. This was part of the original 15 print run that I had made up to hand out to friends and family, hoping they would enjoy it. This was made way before we had planned to continue on and do more books.
How many left - 2 (updated 8.19.09)
$5.00 each

Shoot us an email at CinemaEditor@gmail.com if you would be interested in any of these extremely limited prints. I don’t mean to stress the subject, but once they are sold, we will never have more of these.

Yeah yeah yeah. I know I’m horrible at updating this stuff, but alas I feel my duty would be to give the booty a spankin’

So the annual Wizard World Chicago event is this weekend coming up. Do you know what that means? It means we will have a table in Artist’s Alley ( Table #4018 ) and we will be pimping our wares. The downer though is by we I don’t mean me, but Jaysin, Andy and others.

At the table you will be able to find:

Lost Issues #1 - #4 — Original Covers– $3/each

Lost Issues #1 - #4 — WWC Variant Covers, Limited Printings — $3/each

The Complete Lost Experience TPB — All 4 issues and a bunch of other stuff totally over 200 pages crammed into one graphic novel — $15/each

Probably other stuff… I have no clue, Jaysin usually comes up with a bunch of stuff to peddle. I think he empties out his junk drawer… who knows?

Anyways, hopefully I’ll be able to update this with reports from comic con, but not first hand. sniffle sniffle

OMG ROFL LOL meh…

by Derek | January 17, 2009 | In News No Comments

So I realize it has been a LOOOOOOONG time since something new was put up here. Ya ya ya. Life is hectic and work is a bitch so you do what you can. I must admit though, I am horrible at keeping up on blog posts and the like. The intenets is littered with my abandoned blogs :)

I just wanted to touch base with you all again… if by chance any of you are reading this :) Lost #4 is coming along. Locke is in a holding pattern. Nexus hasn’t been forgotten, but unfortunately I am not the best artist… so I don’t like the idea of putting out sub standard work.

J and I are both on the hunt for work-i-tude… career style stuff. Fingers crossed, wish us well.

I’m also working on (and by working on, I mean hammering out some ideas) of a 10 book run that could turn out cool. I need to find an artist. So if you know someone.

J is hammering out a table top RPG and I’m making a nice little computron interface so it will be a table/lap top RPG.

Also the books have been flying out from IndyPlanet! I suggest going over there and buying some if you haven’t already done so. If you have already bought some, buy some more! Also write a review. I love reading reviews… even bad ones.

So until next time…

Derek

Heads Up Ya’ll

Hey there everyone, Derek here again. Just wanted to drop some news your way so you know what is going on around here.

Jaysin and I have started blogging for Today.com. It pays… minimally, but it’s a writing gig. Jaysin has been doing movie reviews and I will be writing pop culture opinion pieces. Make sure to checkus out at:

Junk Film http://junkfilm.today.com

D-Rock’s Pop Culture Pagoda http://drockpopculture.today.com/

I’m also going to link them over in our links list so you can always have ready access to our blogg-y goodness.

Also, on Wednesday Oct 1, 2008 the first page of Nexus will be up for viewing and every Wed there will be a new one. Exciting eh?

Locke is in the works and should be getting fired up soon. Jaysin has the script and is trying to wrap his brain around it. Should be amazing!

Lost #4 is being worked on. Jaysin has done some tweaking and fine tuning to the page layouts and it should clock in at a whopping 44 pages! The thing about that 44 pages is it is far fewer than originally thought it would be. Jaysin was gearing up for something like 900 pages give or take 845.

There’s alot of exciting happening here at Darth JayDer Comics and now is the time to hop on board and get with the goodness! Tell a friend… tell an enemy… tell anyone that has at least working eyes to come and check us out!

Exhale

by Derek | September 7, 2008 | In Locke, News No Comments

Hey gang. Good news from me. The first issue of our new project “Locke” has been written, and I have to say it is some of the best stuff I’ve ever written (at least I think so).

This is going to be a huge series. It will be trickling out to you guys as a weekly web comic and then compiled into a book once all 24 pages are done. Jaysin has done some sick concept art and I’m stoked.

What won’t be in this book:

Chazz, Rog, or Petey.

This is totally new and wicked. I’m just really pumped right now.

Be on the lookout for more news concerning “Locke” and “Nexus”(the other weekly web comic that will be hitting here that takes place within the same universe!)

Hello again everybody. Just wanted to shout out and point out some of the new changes that have taken place here at DarthJayDer.com.

  1. We have a logo! That means things to have that logo plastered on coming soon.
  2. All issues of Lost are now available for online purchase. Hit the “Buy Our Books” link on the right or go directly to the Lost page and follow the links there
  3. Every post now has a “Share This” option at the bottom of it. You can link it directly to your myspace, facebook, digg, whatever… so share the wealth… the wealth of being cool.
  4. We have a new forum that while it is slim pickings for stuff to read right now, will one day be the greatest forum in the world… or at least this site.
  5. Two big new book announcements coming very soon. If you hadn’t noticed there are forum categories for the books and a page for something called “Nexus” is up already. Get ready and have a change of underwear handy cuz you’re gonna have stuff coming out of every hole when the new stuff comes.
  6. Jaysin’s Weekly Recommendations will be hitting the site here as well as the Lost myspace page. Read what Jaysin thinks will make you a bit closer to being awesome like him.

Welp that’s it for now, so make sure to check back like every 30 seconds to see if something new gets posted. That would make me happy.

Because Lost #2 is now available for online purchase! Just hit the “Buy Our Books” link on the right or the link off of the Lost page.

So for those that have lost count, all 3 books are now available for purchase.

Today’s Big Update

by Derek | July 13, 2008 | In News 2 Comments

If you hadn’t noticed or just didn’t check today, the “Buy Our Books” link just to the right now works! Also on the Lost page appropriate links have been added to purchase Issue #1 and Issue #3. Issue #2 is apparently still in the works.

But feel free to dig on our books.
